Editing Instructions - Single Page Layout
OverviewWelcome to the instructions for managing your single-page website!
CMS AccessTo access the SilverStripe CMS, you need a username and password. Usernames and passwords can only be given by the site's administrator. If you don't have a username or password, let me know.
Creating, Formatting, and Editing Content (General)
These instructions will cover the following:
Files - Working with Images and Documents
Because the available documentation on this section is so comprehensive, I am including the link to Silverstripe's instructions for working with files here.
Adding or Changing Icons
In some cases (depending on your layout), there is an option to add a "File Icon" or a special icon to enhance the layout or to aide in the visitor's understanding of the content being displayed in a certain area. Since there is usually a default icon in place, this section may be left blank. However, if you want to change the icon appears, you can add a different icon based on the availability of the icon font in your website build.
Adding Social Media Links
In this section, you can add links to any of the social media or third party/additional websites you want to share with your website visitors. These links may appear within the header, footer, and contact section of your website and will use the icons or text you enter as the "button" for the link to a new web page.
Editing the Contact Section
Most CONTACT pages are configured to host information for a single location but may offer the option to add contact information for multiple locations. Whether your contact page lists one location or many, you will see the same fields (though they may be in different tabs).
Editing Special Sections or Pages
Different page types are created to display specific types of content dynamically in various sections of your web application. These instructions cover the following page types:
Editing Global Website Settings
The Settings section of your website is the location where many of the global (or not per-page or per-section) settings may be edited. These types of settings or content include the site name, tagline, and information to appear throughout the site in the header or footer. This area is only available to some clients, depending on your website. If you do have access, the options available within the top right tab menu may vary from what you see here.
