I love to read research and to preach about the benefits of mental health counseling with the right counselor. But my current quest to professionally enter the field of mental health, rather than to just talk about it, is actually in progress. In 2018, I returned to college to finish my bachelor's degree in Psychology and am now on the cusp of beginning a graduate program to become a licensed professional counselor.
I would also like to achieve my PhD or PsyD, but this adventure follows another lifetime of work and learning — one where I watched the internet and my kids grow along the same timeline. So, I'm taking it one step at a time.
In the meantime, hopefully nothing will get in the way of me spending a ton of money to get the education I need to ultimately get paid not-so-great in a field that needs more people to perform the work.
